Wireless Headsets Allow Mobility

When I was a child my parent’s wall phone had a 6 foot cord so that my Mother could tend to dinner while talking on the phone. The cord would often attach itself to the top of the dining room chair and after a few months of use would become a twisted knot.  I think about it today and wonder how much she could’ve accomplished with a wireless headset.  

Times have changed and talking on the telephone doesn’t need to be confining.  It is a fact that sales and customer service employees are on the phone several hours a day.  What are the benefits of wireless headsets? 

For one it will give your employee the freedom to utilize their computer while on the phone.  It is a true balancing act to hold the phone up to an ear and find a document or type information into a computer. It will also allow your employee to complete paperwork while on the phone without much struggle.

Wireless headsets also have ergonomic benefits.  I read an ezine article that said, “Wireless headsets reduce muscle tension by 40%.” Additionally the headset enables your employee to sit, stand or pace while talking on the phone.  Allowing your customer service representative the ability to move around and get the blood flowing may assist their troubleshooting skills.

A couple years ago we gave one of our physicians offices a Plantronics Savi Office wireless headset for their front office to use. They reported to us that they appreciated the features of noise cancellation, the freedom to move about the office, mute button and ability to conference future wireless headsets.

Although the cost is $300.00 plus for one headset it may be the best tool you can provide to your customer service and sales employees.
