Redundancy Department of Redundancy

Last week my business partner, Marcy “the Queen of Redundancy” was in true form.  Our toll free call forwarding numbers stopped working. We are a 24/7/365 answering service and this situation is certainly coded an emergency.   Years ago ABC assigned emergency back up call forwarding numbers to every one of our clients.  These numbers are with a different vendor.  We quickly put our emergency plan into action which saved time, anxiety and our reputation.  To Cox Communication’s credit they were aware of the issue early and maintained an open line of communication with us. 

Utility outages and building emergencies are a fact of life. The moral of this story is if your phone calls are important to you be prepared for the unknown and have a disaster back up system and an alternate phone service provider in place.
