Internet Marketing Doesn't Fit In A Box
A couple mornings ago I was traveling to Scottsdale, Arizona to meet with a client and my thoughts were centered on marketing my business. To tackle this economy it is important to know what demographics to target and which method of advertising will bring in the best ROI (return on investment). My business is a nationwide answering service so my challenge is to determine what areas to serve on a reasonable advertising budget.
Not so long ago print advertising was the link between you and a sales lead. Back then the most popular way to advertise was via direct mail in the form of a postcard or the true yellow page books such as the DEX yellow pages. With the advancement of modern technology, internet marketing is the way to go. Once again we are all competing on the same playing field but unlike the yellow page book offerings of rectangles and square boxes there are many different ways to market online. For instance, you can join a social networking group such as linkedin or subscribe to online directories such as superpages.com.
On the other hand…nothing beats a cold call on the right day or meeting with local business owners at a network mixer hosted by your local Chamber of Commerce. I’m finding that there isn’t time for a quiet thought or a day of rest for this answering service marketer.
Signing off until next time.
