Disaster Back Up Services
Everywhere I turn I’m hearing about the H1N1 flu otherwise knows as the swine flu pandemic. The CDC just announced a phase 5 alert. How will this affect your business or practice? No one knows at this point.
This is a good time to review and update your emergency preparedness plan. When disaster strikes whether it is a natural disaster, power outage, system problem or internal issue, it is good to have a current, updated plan in plac
e.
In the good old days an emergency plan consisted of smoke detectors, appropriate number of building sprinklers and fire drill exercises. Since September 11, 2001 emergency plans have evolved to include strategies that will allow a business to continue to operate, uninterrupted, during a disaster.
One part of that strategy is to hire a back up, off premise call center or define and test a redundancy procedure for your phone system. If you field calls global/nationwide or if you experience an isolated internal disaster your phone calls will continue to come in whether your phone system is operational or not.
An answering service will fit nicely into an emergency preparedness plan. We are an off premise entity that operates 24/7 and has the ability to answer phone calls locally, nationally and globally. You can design your account to provide whatever information you want to refer to your callers.
The Swine Flu just may be that wake up call to make certain those emergency preparedness plans are up to date and in place. It could be the difference of staying in business or going down with the disaster.
